Driver killed smashing car into wall near Flamingo and Decatur

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One person is dead after a car hit a wall at about 3:20 a.m. Monday near West Flamingo Road and South Decatur Boulevard.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 1998 Lincoln Continental was traveling westbound on Flamingo Road west of Edmond Street.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the vehicle lost control of the car and it collided with a concrete wall.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 31-year-old Dimo Stolev, was transported to University Medical Center Trauma, where he was also initially pronounced dead.

However, hospital personnel were able to revive him and he is currently in extremely critical condition.

The accident is currently under investigation by LVMPD's Accident Investigation Section.
