Police shoot, kill man wanted for attempted murder
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police shot and killed a man wanted for attempted murder on Friday afternoon. Two others were injured in the gunfire.
The shooting happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Pennwood Avenue near Arville Street, not far from Clark High School.
Authorities said they received a tip that a man accused of attempting to murder his girlfriend was in the area. When officers made contact with him, he opened fire. Police fired back, shooting him along with another man and woman who were with him.
Those two people survived the bullet wounds and are being treated for their injuries.
No officers were injured in the exchange of gunfire.
Investigators remained on scene into the night Friday, working to sort out the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have not identified the man or the officers involved.
