19-year-old man charged with killing 2-month-old baby
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested in North Las Vegas for killing his two-month-old child.
The North Las Vegas Police Department says that Joshua Chinn was arrested Sept. 12 after a six-month investigation.
The investigation began on March 12 after police officers responded to University Medical Center because a two-month-old child was in extremely critical condition with multiple internal injuries.
The child died three days later. An autopsy ruled the death as a homicide, believed to be caused by acts of physical abuse.
During the investigation, police were told that Chinn had acted aggressively towards the child. In one incident, Chinn allegedly hit the baby in her stomach and in another, he was accused of slapping the baby's face.
Evidence also points to Chinn being the last person alone with the child prior to be admitted to the hospital.
Chinn was arr rested at his home on Turquoise Waters Avenue and charged with one count of murder.
