Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at a home that turned out to be a marijuana grow house on Tuesday night.
The house is located in the 5000 block of Isabel Cove Court near West Robindale Road and South Jones Boulevard in the southwest part of the valley.
Neighbors called in the fire just before 9 p.m. Upon arrival by the Clark County Fire Department, they observed smoke coming from the roof of a two-story house.
CCFD made entry and located the fire in an upstairs bedroom. While firefighters were attempting to get the fire under control, they discovered what appeared to be a marijuana growing operation with lights and wire running throughout the second floor of the home.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes. It was contained to the second floor.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and CCFD arson investigators were contacted to assist in the investigation of the fire. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
No one was home at the time of the fire. Preliminary damage estimate is $100,000.
