Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police have arrested one suspect in a string of recent pet store burglaries, and are looking for a person of interest.

Authorities say a juvenile was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of possession of stolen property. A bulldog and three bearded dragons were recovered.

An investigation also led police to two Siberian Huskies taken in a separate incident.

The puppies were gone for about 30 hours, when then owner said he saw a man heading into his store with a missing pooch under each arm.

"I tuThe guy was holding them...and I was thinking, am I dreaming?," said Puppy Boutique Owner Paulo Tomas.

Tomas said the man who returned them said the dogs were given to him by a friend who asked him to watch them for a while.

He said the man told him he felt compelled to return the dogs after seeing the coverage on Action News.

"He claims that his friend had him watch the dogs, and he saw the news so he said I have to do the right thing.  So he has a good heart," Tomas said.

On Friday, three stolen exotic birds were also recovered after someone purchased them from an unknown person.

Police have identified an additional person of interest in the case, 23-year-old Juan Carlos Vasquez.

Several pets are still missing. Anyone with information on their whereabouts or details on the burglaries is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
