Cops crack down on impaired drivers over Super Bowl weekend
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Law enforcement officers from across Clark County are on high alert for any sign of impaired driving this weekend.
Super Bowl weekend is the third deadliest of the year.
There were four fatal crashes over Super Bowl weekend in Nevada last year. One happened on game day.
Erin Breen of Safe Community Partnership says people tend to plan ahead for big holidays such as Christmas and New Year, and overlook parties for smaller events.
Breen warns, "If you're holding a private party please understand that if somebody that leaves your house goes out and gets in a crash, that they can come back on you the homeowner. So, I think everybody should do the responsible thing."
Breen says that includes having guests stay overnight, or paying for the Designated Driver program that gets party-goers, their vehicles and their passengers home safely. That number is 456-RIDE.
