Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- President Barack Obama is turning to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie for some help on the national gun control battle.
Gillespie went to Washington for a meeting of police chiefs and sheriffs from major cities.
They gave the president their input on what they think should be done to control guns in this country.
The idea behind the meeting was to get suggestions from law enforcement officials who deal with gun violence on a daily basis.
The president is calling for universal background checks and a ban on high-capacity magazines.
