Cram Middle School awarded for collecting Be Smart. Be Safe. Be Seen. pledges
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - For more than a year we've asked you to get involved in our Be Smart. Be Safe. Be Seen. campaign to improve pedestrian safety. Here's some inspiration to do so. Kids at Cram Middle School collected more than 2,000 pledges, the most of any school in the district.
95 PTA schools took part in the competition. Monday, Action News, Look Out Kids About and Nevada PTA presented Cram Middle School's PTA with a $500 check for their dedication to raising awareness about this issue.
The kids got their moms, dads, sisters, brothers and those in the community to sign it.
"When you took the pledge home what did your parents say when you presented it to them," asked Action News anchor Rikki Cheese.
"They were actually really surprised because no one had thought of this they were actually really motivated to do what the pledge was," explained eighth grader Anthony Lomeli.
The money will be used to send some members of the school's PTA to a state PTA conference in Reno in April.
