Court hearing to be reset for Saudi military Sgt.
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- An evidence hearing is being postponed while a defense attorney seeks bail for a Saudi Arabia air force sergeant facing a child sex assault charge in Las Vegas.
Prosecutor James Sweetin and defense attorney Don Chairez say a Thursday court date will be reset for 23-year-old Mazen Alotaibi.
Chairez will instead argue Friday morning for bail.
Alotaibi faces kidnapping, sexual assault with a minor and felony coercion charges that could get him decades in state prison.
Police say a 13-year-old boy visiting with his family from out of town reported that Alotaibi pulled him into a sixth-floor room at the Circus Circus hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and sexually assaulted him.
Alotaibi was arrested the morning before Las Vegas' big New Year's Eve fireworks show.
