(KTNV) -- There is lots of talk this morning about a scary new report on energy drinks.
A new government study has found that the number of people going to emergency rooms after drinking an energy drink has doubled in just four years.
Four years ago, it was 10,000 visits to the ER.
That number doubled to 20,000 in 2011.
The study found that 42 percent of the energy drink consumers who ended up at the hospital had also mixed the drink with another stimulant such as the drugs Adderall or Ritalin or alcohol.
But, the other 58 percent only drank the energy drink.
The energy drink industry says that you shouldn't trust the hospital study. They say there is now way to know for sure if it was the energy drink that resulted in the hospital visits.
