Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- With most of the country experiencing a flu epidemic, daycare centers in the Las Vegas Valley have started taking precautions.
That includes sending home information to parents about how to recognize flu symptoms and what the policies are at the center when trying to decide whether or not to send a sick child to daycare.
Children who exhibit flu symptoms are usually required to be picked up immediately from daycare and are not allowed to return for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever.
Many places are also taking extra precautions such as making sure that children and staff wash their hands frequently.
Extra cleaning precautions are also being taken to help prevent the spread of the flu.
Many daycare centers are also recommending that children and parents get flu shots.
