Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police have arrested 24-year-old Rosendo Bravo Lopez of Salinas, Calif., as the suspect in a violent sexual assault that took place Sept. 1 not far from the Las Vegas Strip.

Authorities say a 22-year-old female was attacked in the 3000 block of Joe W. Brown as she was attempting to make her way back to her hotel room.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center Trauma to be treated for her injuries after she was found by security running down a roadway barefoot and yelling for help.

The suspect was captured on video fleeing in the opposite direction.

Investigators also uncovered additional video surveillance of the suspect walking down the Strip in front of the Riviera hotel-casino prior to the assault.

Warrants were issued for Lopez on Dec. 21. He is being charged with sexual assault, battery with intent to commit sexual assault, and coercion.

Lopez is currently being detained in the Monterey County Jail in California, where he awaits extradition to Nevada.
