Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's the height of the holiday season and we all know that this time of the year means a ton of family, friends, love and, of course, food. We tend to indulge, and that's ok, 'tis the season to enjoy holiday treats! But, the Springs Preserve wants you to look forward to eating healthy in the new year.
Calling all soon-to-be health nuts! This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas and professional chefs from Springs Cafe will host a cooking workshop called "Bring in the New Year Right." Reservations are required as space is very limited.
If cooking doesn't sound appetizing, maybe ballet does. It's opening weekend of "The Nutcracker" at the Smith Center for Performing Arts. You can catch the Nevada Ballet Theatre perform now through Sunday, December 23. Tickets are almost sold out for this weekend, so you may want to get yours today. The first show is this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Also, The Henderson Winterfest hits the streets this weekend to celebrate old-fashioned holiday traditions. Get out to the Henderson Events Plaza Friday night at 6 p.m. Santa Claus is coming to town and the holiday tree lights up the community. The event continues through Saturday night.
