New campaign aims to keep drunk drivers off road
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The holiday season can be a dangerous one on the roads. Drunk driving is an especially big problem this time of the year.
A new national campaign has been announced called "Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over" and it will be going on now through New Year's Day.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says nearly 10,000 people die in drunk driving related accidents every hear.
Here in Clark County, there have already been nearly 30 deaths this year.
That is why local law enforcement will be on the lookout for people who are impaired behind the wheel.
And they are not the only ones.
Agencies around the country are cracking down and saying there will be zero tolerance this holiday season.
There are a lot more people on the roads during this time of the year so police officers advise not to take the chance. Take a cab, have a designated driver, or just don't drink if you know that you will be driving.
