Teens accused in videotaped attack admit to making a bad decision
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two teens allegedly caught on tape attacking a student will remain detained after a court appearance on Wednesday.
The brothers, who are 13 years old and 15 years old, pleaded guilty to battery before a judge after a video surfaced online and then went viral.
Both boys admitted to making a bad decision.
The judge in the case decided to detain the boys until their next court date. The older brother has a criminal history and admitted in court that he has gang affiliations. His younger brother does not have a criminal record. His attorney said he was egged on by his older brother.
The judge said it would be safer to keep both boys detained due to concerns over the teens' family unit at home and their history of mental illness.
Both teens will return to the courtroom in about two weeks. They could face time or probation.
