Little League equipment stolen

Little League equipment stolen

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Who would rip off equipment from Little League baseball teams?

The Peccole Little League's storage unit at Rainbow Park on West Oakey was ripped off to the tune of about $1,500 worth of equipment over the past couple of weeks.

Someone broke the lock and took ten bags of catcher's equipment.

Peccole Little League President Greg Blackwell tells Action News, "Most kids provide themselves their own bat, their own helmet now. That's kind of the trend to have your own baseball equipment, but not every kid wants to be a catcher. So the league, that's one of the pieces of equipment the league still provides to each team is catcher's gear."

Blackwell says valuable training and field equipment was left behind, but this theft comes at a critically tough time for players and their families. If anyone can help with this loss, you are asked to contact the league through their Peccole Baseball website, or click here. And anyone with information about possible suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
