Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A 56-year-old Henderson man was struck and killed by a car as he was attempting to cross Boulder Highway at about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the Henderson Police Department, the man was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Sedan driven by 35-year-old Chandra Gibson of Henderson.
Gibson was driving in the southbound lane of Boulder near Major Avenue when she struck the man.
Gibson had a green light at the time and it was not clear if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
Gibson voluntarily submitted to blood testing but she did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.
A preliminary investigation also indicates that speed was not a factor in the crash.
However, the incident remains under investigation. Toxicology tests on the driver and pedestrian will be conducted by the Clark County coroner's office.
The coroner will also identify the pedestrian pending notification.
So far this year, there have been 11 fatal accidents and 14 deaths in the city of Henderson.
