Fatal accident closes I-215 at Windmill

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Nevada Highway Patrol told Action News 25-year-old Juan Diaz was declared dead by a doctor at University Medical Center after a single-vehicle rollover on I-215 at Windmill Lane.
The Las Vegas man was driving a black 2000 GMC pickup on the westbound I-215 onramp at Windmill Lane at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday. Diaz steered the truck left which caused it to rotate counter-clockwise across the roadway and overturn down the rock covered embankment which separates the elevated onramp from the expressway.
Diaz was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident and was ejected. The truck continued down the embankment coming to rest on Westbound I-215.
Diaz was transported to UMC where he was declared dead by medical professionals at 6:32 a.m.
