Man struck by van in North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a van in North Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Police said it happened at about 11:15 a.m. at Craig Road and Clayton Street.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital with significant head trauma. He was transported to UMC Trauma where he remains.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 33-year-old Las Vegas man was driving southbound on Clayton, attempting to turn left onto eastbound Craig. The driver entered the intersection and struck the victim, who was trying to cross Craig Road.
Evidence suggests the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash. However, investigators are still trying to determine who had the right of way.
Charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Drug and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.
