New CASA volunteers sworn in
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- CASA swore in some new volunteers for their foster care program in a family court ceremony on Monday.
CASA stands for court appointed special advocates. The 19 new advocates will represent foster children they are assigned to in school, child and family team meetings and in court for the next two years.
The addition of these volunteers is a big deal because the program only has 326 advocates. Family court says more volunteers are needed to meet the goal of one advocate for every child.
