Sandoval to read to 2nd graders in Reno

CREATED Oct. 19, 2012

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and members of his Cabinet will be the big kids in the classroom when they read to elementary school students.

Dubbed "Cabinet Reading Day," members of the Sandoval administration Thursday will either read "Tomas and the Ghost Town" by Mike Miller or "Pogonip Magic" by Karen Collett Wilson. Both are Nevada authors.

Sandoval says the program is designed to encourage children to read and help bring focus to the reading challenges many children face.

Reading sessions are planned at elementary schools in the Reno-Sparks area and in Las Vegas.
