Nye County, NV (KTNV) -- The Nye County Sheriff's Office has released new findings in a 2006 missing person's case.
In Feb. 2006, Maureen Fields didn't show up for work at Wells Fargo where she was employed and has not been seen or heard from since.
The sheriff's department located her vehicle shortly after her disappearance in the desert, just outside of Pahrump in Inyo County. At the scene, "unknown male" DNA was found.
In Aug. 2012, detectives received information that the "unknown male" DNA profile was no longer unknown.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department forensic laboratory had identified the DNA, found on the pantyhose within the vehicle, belonged to 81-year-old Keith Holmes of Pearblossom, Calif.
Holmes is a registered sex offender.
Investigation revealed that Holmes began traveling to Pahrump around 2006 and usually traveled in a 1965 Ford camper.
NCSO detectives are continuing to follow up on leads and are asking for the public's help with providing any information about Holmes; people who recognize him or his vehicle. Contact detectives at (775) 751-7000 if you have any information.
