Friends of Shauna Tiaffay seek closure after her murder
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Friends and family struggle for answers in the murder of a local mom. Friends of that woman are speaking out about her death and the current investigation by police.
According to those that knew here, the murdered woman who worked at the Palms hotel-casino as a cocktail waitress for 11 years, loved her daughter, and never drank, smoked, or abused drugs. That's why her friends are baffled as to why anyone would want to kill her.
"Oh it just makes me very mad. Very mad. It's just not fair," says friend of 14 years Claudia Carrillo.
Friends of Shauna Tiaffay's are upset and left with nothing but questions.
"This is just horrifying. I don't know how this happened. Who could have done this. She didn't have an enemy in the world," says Carrillo.
Tiaffay was found beaten to death inside her Summerlin condo Saturday morning. Ever since then, investigators have roped off her apartment as they look for clues as to who may have killed her.
"You know it could be so many possibilities. It's just...the only thing I can tell you is that it doesn't add up," says Carrillo.
Since learning of her death, coworkers and friends have gathered to support each other and show out-of-town family what the 46-year-old cocktail waitress meant to them.
"We had a gathering in my home with other people from work. We released balloons with messages. These flowers that I have in my home are from flowers to her to celebrate her life and let her sister know she was just loved," says Carrillo.
For 11 years friends say she went to her job at the Palms Casino worked hard and well with everyone and lived for the moments she spent with her family.
"What I'm going to miss most is the fact that I worked side by side with her. That she was next to me every night," says Carrillo.
Broken up about the seemingly senseless act her closest friends want just one thing now.
"I just want justice."
