Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two weeks after a car went careening through a bus stop, killing four and injuring eight, complete strangers are still stopping by to honor the victims.
"It's just tragic...should not happen," said David Jeong, who stopped at the memorial to show his respect.
People are wondering why the RTC hasn't put up a new shelter.
The RTC says installing a replica of the old shelter would not meet updated safety codes.
The old stop was too close to the curb; it was installed years ago, even before the RTC took over in 2006. Since then, new requirements have been put in place by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Now the RTC says they plan to contact the lot's property owner in order to acquire space to install a new shelter.
One thing is certain... they can't stop service altogether because about 180 people use the stop on a daily basis.
Action News tried to contact the last known owner, but we were unsuccessful.
