CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is in South Korea to promote economic opportunities between the two governments.

The first-term Republican is on the second leg of his Asian trade mission that also included stops in China.

Sandoval on Tuesday met with Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik to discuss the benefits of an economic partnership between Nevada and the Republic of Korea.

Sandoval in a statement says the meeting was an opportunity to confer directly with South Korean officials and lay a foundation for business growth in Nevada and the Asian country.

The meeting followed a reception dinner Monday night hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Sung Y. Kim, and attended by Korean investors and business representatives.
