DEA raids business at Sahara and Rainbow

CREATED Sep. 25, 2012

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Federal agents raided a business in the Wellington Place strip mall, at the corner of Sahara and Rainbow.

The business was at the center of a suspected marijuana grow operation.

The business has no signage, and  frosted windows prevent anyone from seeing inside.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is not revealing many details yet, because it is still an active investigation.

Our Action News crew did see young men being escorted out of the business in handcuffs.

"It was definitely shocking," says Erika Strassburg, who lives nearby. "I was just coming from school, and had no idea what was going on. It's so close to home."

"Two SWAT trucks pulled up, and tons of officers got out and quarantined the whole area," says Michael Hamm, who owns a neighboring business "I did have questions about what was going on there. There were no signs indicating what it was, and here were tons of people coming in and out every day. All walka of life frequented it. It was probably the busiest place in this strip mall."
