Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Fall is here and stores across the country, and here in the Valley, are looking to add additional employees for the busy holiday season.
Last year, Sweet Ruby Jane's Confectioners in Henderson hired three temporary employees for the holidays; this year they're looking to make it four.
“Last year we brought them in between Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said owner Patty McCormick. “Now we're going to bring them in for Halloween.”
Just down the street at Kettlemuck's Toy Shoppe, they're not only looking to hire a handful of temporary employees, they're opening up a separate location for the holiday season.
"We're also opening a store at the galleria mall. So we'll have another location that'll just be for Christmas,” said Carolyn Stefaniak, owner of Kettlemuck's Toy Shoppe.
These local shop owners may be offering different items for the holidays, but both say the recipe for survival against their corporate competitors is hiring someone who knows how to offer a personal touch.
