CREATED Sep. 23, 2012
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, on a trade mission to China and South Korea, says business agreements have been reached for two Nevada companies to expand their reach to Asia.

Sandoval on Saturday said Las Vegas-based Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects signed a two-year contract with Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co. for design of a business campus near Hong Kong. The joint ventured is valued at around $500,000.

In another deal, the governor says a distribution agreement will allow Reno-based confectioner Kimmie Candy to enter the Chinese candy market.

Executives from both companies were part of the trade mission organized by the Governor's Office of Economic Development.

Additionally, DRI President Dr. Stephen Wells signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese Academy of Science's Institute of Earth Environment to collaborate on atmospheric research.
