Clark County School District hopes to replace two schools

CREATED Sep. 18, 2012

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Rex Bell and Lincoln Elementary Schools have been named as the two schools that will be replaced if the 2012 capital improvement plan is approved by voters in November.

The announcement of which schools had been chosen was made this morning. Officials say that the proposed plan would provide essential renovations and repairs to other schools and would include two replacement schools.

In the case of Rex Bell and Lincoln, replacing the schools would be more cost effective than repairs or renovation. New facilities would be built on existing campuses and classes would continue during construction.

The announcement was made by Superintendent Dwight Jones.
