Police present program to remind teens of dangers of drunk driving
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Legacy High School students will experience something today that many of them have never seen before and it may shock them.
But that is the point.
The North Las Vegas Police Department will put on an elaborate performance today and they will use real students from Legacy High School as their actors.
When students arrive at school today, they will walk out to what looks like an active fatal accident scene involving their friends and peers.
It is all part of the Every 15 Minutes program. It is called that because every 15 minutes in the United States, a person is killed in an accident involving a person under the influence.
The accident simulation that the students will see today is only part of the Every 15 Minutes program. It will conclude tomorrow with an assembly where students can talk about what they have learned.
