Flood relief phone bank raises $6,094 for local Red Cross
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Action News hosted a phone bank with the Red Cross of Southern Nevada, raising $6,094 to help those impacted by Tuesday's storm.
Volunteers answered phone calls for three and a half hours in the Action News room on Wednesday afternoon, taking donations from residents offering help to their community.
Tuesday's storms devastated some local neighborhoods and businesses, leaving many victims with nowhere to turn but the Red Cross.
Red Cross workers are helping provide food and housing to those impacted by the damage. Wednesday's phone bank will help aid those efforts.
Action News and the Red Cross say thank you to all of those who made a donation today.
If you'd like to donate, visit the Southern Nevada Red Cross' website or call 702-369-3674.
