CREATED Sep. 12, 2012

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- President Barack Obama arrived in Las Vegas just after 4 p.m. Wednesday in preparation for a speech at the Cashman Center.

Air Force one touched down shortly before 3 p.m. at McCarran International Airport.

President Obama waved and debarked from the plane, quickly getting into a limousine to head to the Cashman Center in Las Vegas' downtown area.

President Obama's speech is now scheduled to begin at about 6:10 p.m. He is expected to talk about the economy, a point of interest for Nevada voters.

It was not clear whether Obama planned to touch on Tuesday's violence in the Middle East during his speech.

Action News will have live coverage of the event beginning at 6 p.m.
