Two Clark County teachers accused of having sex with student

UPDATE: Bambi Dewey and John Stalmach were able to post bail Monday night. They were released at about 3 a.m.. Dewey was released on $20,000 bond and Stalmach was released on $60,000 bond. Their first court appearance will be Oct. 1.
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Henderson Police have arrested two Clark County School District teachers on charges of having sexual relations with a 16-year-old girl.
Bambi M. Dewey, 32, and John E. Stalmach, 31, were both taken into custody Monday on solicitation of minor to engage in acts constituting crime against nature charges. Stalmach was also charged with sexual conduct between certain employees of school or volunteers at school and pupil.
Both were booked into the Henderson Detention Center.
Dewey and Stalmach are accused of having sex with a 16-year-old female Basic High School
student at a home in Henderson the couple shared.
Stalmach is also accused of having sex with the girl without Dewey. The sex acts are alleged to have occurred between November 2011 and January 2012.
Dewey is a teacher at Brown Junior High School in Henderson and Stalmach is a teacher at
Dailey Elementary School in Las Vegas. Stalmach did teach at Basic High School at one time
and at Brown Junior High School. The 16-year-old girl was a student at Brown Junior High
School when both Dewey and Stalmach taught there.
Both suspects are expected to make a court appearance on Tuesday.
In a statement to Action News the school district said, "These teachers are off payroll and this serves as a reminder to parents to talk to their kids about any abnormal interactions with adults."
