Car crashes into bus stop at Charleston and Lamb
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A car crashed into a bus stop late Thursday morning near Charleston and Lamb.
Police were called to the scene at about 11:45 a.m. They say a man was waiting at the bus stop in front of a gas station at the time of the crash.
That man suffered injuries to his legs and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated.
The woman driving the car and her male passenger did not appear to be hurt.
Witnesses say the driver was making a right turn when she lost control, slamming into the bus stop in front of a gas station.
Detectives questioned the driver. She was cited at the scene.
The Regional Transportation Commission said the bus stop has been removed, but buses will continue making their scheduled stops at that location. They plan to independently investigate the incident to determine whether changes need to be made to the bus stop. The RTC says the bus stop is more than six years old and may no longer meet certain standards.
Metro Police say the intersection of Charleston and Lamb is the second most dangerous in their jurisdiction over the last six months.
