Almost time to start thinking about holiday shopping
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Most of you have finished your back-to-school shopping and now it is time to start thinking about holiday shopping.
If you are on a budget, don't worry. Once again, layaway will be an option for holiday shoppers.
Toys R Us has already started its program and they have announced that it will be free from now until Halloween. After that, the fee is just $5.
Walmart's layaway program starts next week and they have lowered their fee from $15 to $5. But, they do have some restrictions.
Each item must be at least $15 and the total purchase must be at least $50.
As for what you should buy, Time magazine says now is a good time to look for jewelry. They say September isn't a prime gift-giving month so many retailers may be more willing to negotiate than they will during the holidays.
Ranges and stoves will also be going on sale soon since stores need to make way for next year's models. So, this is also a good time to look for those kinds of items.
And, if you have any back-to-school items still on your shopping list, you may be able to get some deals now.
