Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police and firefighters worked tirelessly all day Wednesday, responding to calls of stranded cars across the Las Vegas and Henderson area.
One place Action News found vehicles stalled was on Silverado Ranch just west of Eastern. The Action News Hawk captured video of countless other cars stuck in high waters.
Debilitating pools of water shut down numerous streets, with the east side of the Valley particularly hard-hit.
Parts of Wigwam Parkway, St. Rose Parkway, Sunset Road and Stephanie Street were just a few more of the streets crews closed to prevent drivers from being stranded.
Drivers were detoured around several closed streets, and crews could be spotted cleaning up debris in hopes of reopening shut down roadways.
The Flamingo Wash turned into rapids as waters accumulated, representing just one of many washes that was put to work on Wednesday.
