Ordinance hopes to cut litter on the Las Vegas Strip

CREATED Aug. 7, 2012
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to approve an anti-littering ordinance aimed at semi-pornographic ads that are distributed on the sidewalks of the Las Vegas Strip.

The ordinance, which was approved Tuesday, says handbillers must clean up any discarded ads within a 25-foot radius of where they are standing. The cleanup must be done every 15 minutes.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada opposed the new rule. They believe it will be selectively enforced and will target the handbillers.
