Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Air conditioners are working overtime as temperatures rise in the Las Vegas area. NV Energy is offering tips to keep your energy bills down in the scorching summer months.

Greg Kern with NV Energy says turning your AC temperature up - say from 78 degrees to 82 degrees - can help lower your bill.

Limiting the use of your stove and oven can help keep you cool and keep your bills low.

Kern also suggests closing window blinds to keep the sun from heating up the house.

NV Energy says following their tips can help you save 10 to 25 percent on your next bill.
