Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- There may soon be a crosswalk in front of the Eastside Cannery at Sun Valley Drive and Boulder Highway.
A recent pedestrian death prompted us to contact the Nevada Department of Transportation.
"There was a crosswalk there before, but there's been recent work on Boulder Highway so it was removed for the work. We are looking into putting it back in," said NDOT spokesperson Michelle Booth.
The crosswalk was removed in October 2010 by the RTC for a bus route project.
The upcoming changes were the few words of comfort we could offer Sharon Ewing. It was her boyfriend, 50-year-old Frank Martini, who died suddenly this past Tuesday.
Martini was hit by an alleged drunk driver while attempting to cross the street.
"I'm heartbroken," says Ewing.
The driver who hit Martini has been identified as 44-year-old David Nieto of Las Vegas.
Nieto has been charged with driving under the influence and hit and run.
