Public comment session scheduled for NV Energy rate application
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada will give the general public the opportunity to comment on NV Energy's application to adjust consumer rates at a session on June 26.
The session will take place via video-conference at 6 p.m. in Hearing Room A at PUCN's office, 9075 W. Diablo Drive, Suite 250.
A session is also taking place at the same time in Carson City.
If approved by the PUCN as filed, Southern Nevada NV Energy customers would experience a 1.42 percent rate increase over all electric rate classes. The average monthly residential rate would increase $2.58 or 1.83 percent.
In Northern Nevada, a 1.20 percent electric rate decrease for all classes is proposed. That represents a reduction of 91 cents (1.11 percent) for the average monthly residential rate. For Reno and Sparks natural gas customers, a 0.19 percent increase across all rate classes is proposed. The average monthly residential rate would increase 8 cents (0.17 percent).
Public comment is limited to the contents of the applications.
Representatives from NV Energy will be present at the session to answer questions.
The PUCN has scheduled a hearing on NV Energy's latest application at 10 a.m. Aug. 7.
