Protesters gather before President Obama's speech at UNLV

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- President Obama arrived in Las Vegas at around 12:10 p.m. Thursday for his speech at  the Cox Pavilion on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

He was in Southern California Wednesday night raising money for his re-election campaign and touting the accomplishments of his first term, including the repeal of the Don't Ask Don't Tell, the end of the war, and the defeat of Osama Bin Laden.

But, protesters here in Las Vegas say not enough has been done over the last four years when it comes to the economy.

Those protesters showed up this morning at the Cox Pavilion. Among them were the College Republicans from UNLV.

They know that President Obama was wildly popular among young voters four years ago but they say now they are hurting the most from his policies. And they there is nothing the president can say today about job creation or student loans that would make them feel better.

It was a very vocal group of protesters but fairly small-- Only about 20 people or so.

This is the fourth trip to Nevada this year. He was in Reno last month and near Boulder City last month to visit a solar facility.
