Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A car crashed into a corner of a house Thursday morning after the driver attempted to run from a Las Vegas police officer.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, an officer made a routine traffic stop on East Harmon Avenue near Sandhill Drive at around 6:55 a.m. Thursday morning.

When the officer ran the driver's name and information, it came up with an outstanding warrant.

The officer returned to the car and asked the driver to step out. At that point, the driver took off.

After driving about half a block, the driver attempted to make a turn but ended up driving over a curb and a stop sign and into the corner of a home in the 4400 block of East Harmon.

The driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran but was arrested by police about a block away.

There were two passengers in the car at the time of the incident. One of them is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Action News will update this story with new information when it becomes available.
