Ambulances bring moms home for Mother's Day
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Many mothers spent the holiday with their children but for those who rely on a wheelchair, getting to their family can be difficult
One local ambulance company is using their emergency vehicles to make sure these families celebrate together.
Beverly Henrichson doesn't have use of her legs, but with the help of the paramedics, she was driven 20 miles from her care facility in Henderson to the home of her daughter.
“She's my only daughter, and I love her a lot,” Henrichson said.
Her daughter, Krista Polasick said that today’s event provides them with the chance to be together in a real home environment.
“Growing up we used to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking, talking and conversing and it's just great to able to have her here and be able to do that,” said Polasick.
Henrichson’s trip was completely free of charge thanks to Community Ambulance, who have been reuniting family's on mother's day for several years.
“It's just fun to get away,” said Henrichson.
