Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Fire investigators have released the cause of a large fire near McCarran International Airport.

The fire was reported around 6:50 p.m. on Friday evening and was extinguished at 7:39 p.m.

The Clark County Fire Department said pallets at the plumbing supply warehouse caught fire. The one-story commercial building is located on Bermuda Road, near the 215.

Investigators say the fire was caused by someone carelessly discarding a cigarette and was an accident.

The building houses an estimated $2.6 million worth of inventory. Damage from the fire is estimated at $175,000 for the building and for materials and equipment.

Residents living and driving near the area reported smoke visible from several miles away.
