Nevada Democrats file complaint against Tarkanian
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- The Nevada State Democratic Party has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging first quarter campaign reporting irregularities by Republican congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian.
The complaint filed Wednesday alleges Tarkanian failed to disclose debt left over from his failed U.S. Senate campaign in 2010.
It also questions contributions from some limited liability corporations that did not include partnership attributions on the quarterly report, as well as other possible corporate donations that the complaint alleges are improper.
Tarkanian's campaign did not immediately return messages seeking comment. But Tarkanian's political director Tim Williams tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal they are looking into it and will consult with the FEC.
Tarkanian is considered a front-runner among nine Republicans running in the June primary for Nevada's newly created 4th Congressional District.
