Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A vicious dog attack leaves two farm animals dead. Their grieving owner is now concerned the unleashed dogs will strike again.
"I've never seen anything like it," says Sylvie Guerrero. "It was really gruesome."
Guerrero's small backyard farm looked more like a bloody battleground after the attack Easter morning.
"My daughter came running into the house telling me there were two dogs going crazy in our backyard," she describes.
The dogs had jumped a wall and were savagely attacking Guerrero's goats. Two of the goats were killed -- another was badly injured -- all while trying to protect a group of newborn goats.
"One of the goats that died, had her ear completely ripped off," Guerrero says. "The goat who survived is recovering from bites on his face, neck, and leg."
Guerrero called police and Clark County Animal Control came to take the dogs away. But their owner got to take them back home the very next day with only a citation for failing to restrain the animals.
"That makes me so nervous," Guerrero says. "I think it would be better for the dogs to be put down. They showed how vicious they are and could do it again. There are a lot of kids in this neighborhood. They could be the next victims if the county doesn't take stronger action."
Dan Kulin, Clark County's Public Information Officer, says the case is still open and under investigation. Further action could be taken against the dogs.
