Deadly shooting at East Las Vegas senior living center
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man is dead and an elderly woman is in the hospital after a senior living center becomes the scene of a shooting.
Neighbors say Las Vegas police quickly arrested the man they believe to be the gunman.
Residents of Bonanza Pines in east Las Vegas say the two victims were a mother and son. They add that the gunman was a very bizarre character, who usually kept to himself, which is why they have no idea what would prompt him to start shooting.
“It was obvious. The guy is loony,” said resident Carol Voris.
“He just made some comments that gave me goose bumps,” said Carol’s husband, Bill.
Residents say the one of the victim's was a 78-year old woman with the first name of Betty Jean. They say her son, who was killed, spent time at Bonanza Pines caring for his mother.
