Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Transportation Security Agency is offering a new program that allows travelers to go through security lines much faster.

The program, which is called PreCheck, lets travelers who get clearance from the TSA in advance to bypass such things as removing shoes, belts and coats. They can also leave their laptops and cosmetics in their bags.

To get approved to participate, passengers must be U.S. citizens and share background information such as gender and date of birth. Passengers also have to submit their fingerprints and pass a background check.

There are currently seven airports participating, including McCarran International Airport. The program is scheduled to expand to 35 airports by the end of the year.

However, at this time, only passengers who fly Delta or American from the D gate and first class can participate.
