Sister speaks out about teen killed at a house party
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are investigating the death of a teenage girl after a fight at a weekend house party turned deadly. The victim has been identified by her family as 17-year-old Betty Jean Pinkney.
Investigators said two men got into an argument at a party in the 4200 hundred block of Tattersall Place, located in the northeast part of the Valley. Several shots were fired just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Two females were hit by bullets police say weren't intended for them. Pinkney died from her injuries, and a second victim remains in critical condition.
"She was full of life and they took her life early," her sister, Chereka Franklin said.
Betty attended Desert Pines High School.
"She was into sports," Chereka said. "She was into basketball and she was on the track team. She was a fun and exciting person."
