Couple donates generator to Opportunity Village

CREATED Jan. 7, 2012

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local couple has decided to donate a generator to the Opportunity Village one day after 2 generators were stolen from the non-profit organization.

David and Teresa Dunkel saw the news of the recent crime on Action News. They contacted us about donating the generator. It will help supply power to about 3 million lights at the Magical Forest.

David Dunkel says he was "heartbroken & sad" when he heard the news. He's happy to help saying, "at least I can do something to help out the community."

"Teresa and David, well we welcome them to the opportunity village family," says Karen Iglesias, the Opportunity Village's Development Officer. "We are very, very, grateful for what they're doing for us," says Iglesias.

The two stolen generators are worth about $2,500. Metro is investigating the crime. If you know anything, contact police.

A big thanks to our viewers Teresa & David Dunkel.
